 Free Wooden Deck plans - My sister wanted a deck built on the front of her house. We needed to build the deck over the existing concrete steps, but other than that, it was a relatively straightforward build, since the deck surface was only about 3 feet off the ground at the highest point. This was my first deck build, but basic construction and engineering principles apply. When we got to her house, I made all the measurements, sketched out the basic plans, and made up my materials list. It was mostly my Dad and I building, but my Mom, wife and son helped out at various points during the build.
