Free Straight Froward Bench plans - This is a medium duty 42 inch bench. It could go smaller and if you go larger, you might want to use 2x4 legs to keep them in scale. I used stock 1x3 boards for the seat with a 1/4 inch gap. Random width boards would work nicely here. Just lay them out to determine the overall seat width and adjust the other dimensions accordingly (the seat overlaps the legs about 1/4 inch on either side). Check everything first. Note the 1 inch wood dowel leg rungs and quarter round trim under the seat.
